This complex Pinot is in a class all its own. Grounded in dark red fruit and good old earth, it blends what we love about California, with what's often missed from the Old World. While you'll find a nice bit of oak, it takes a back seat to the acid, making this a great food wine.
Founded in 1991 by 3 partners and farmed to this day by horseshoe-mustached owner/grower Ken Nerlove, Elkhorn Peak's recipe for phenomenal wine is simple: the perfect terroir, estate-grown grapes, and extremely talented winemaking. Located in South Napa's Jamieson Canyon, Elkhorn has two estate vineyards, Fagan Creek Vineyard and Vineyard 38. Both of the hillside vineyards are South facing and have views of the San Pablo and San Francisco Bays. With cool and foggy influences from this marine environment, this is a perfect area to grow world class Pinot Noir grapes.
