Tasting Notes
A bouquet of strawberries and cherries, cloves, cocoa and slight minerality; easy tannins and a long and smooth finish that compels another sip.
Winemaker Notes
The 2009 Bastille is based on co-fermented Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon (59% and 18%, respectively) from Seaton Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley, blended with 20% Cabernet Sauvignon from De Novo’s block in aCURE eSTATE vineyard in Alexander Valley, and 3% Cabernet Franc from Monticello Vineyard in Napa Valley. The base blend and Cabernet Sauvignon were aged approximately 19 months in neutral oak barrels.
